Riverton,UT-Eric E. Heaton, 55, returned to his loving Heavenly Father after 'another bump in the road' on Monday, September 15, 2014 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Eric was born on January 9, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Olympus High in 1977 and served an LDS mission to Des Moines, Iowa. Eric married his sweetheart Karen Avery in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 22, 1986.
Eric was an incredible man. He filled his life with service for all those who crossed paths with. He had a great love and passion for the medical field and served as a Physician Assistant for the past 26 years for Dr. Clifford G. Harman and Dr. Kenneth N. Buchi.
Eric leaves behind a legacy of service, kindness and a love for the outdoors, especially hunting with his two boys. The times he treasured most were the times he spent with his family and grandson. He had a deep love of the gospel and loved working with the youth. Survived by his loving wife Karen, children Trevor and Tanner, grandson Ryker , 'chemo dog' Ellie, mother Luana, siblings Grant Jr. (Linda), Lisa (Jeff) Jones, Kwan (Lavon) and Patty (Clark) Chamberlain. He was preceded in death by his father Grant Sr. The family would like to express their thanks for the amazing outpouring of love and support given by many friends, neighbors and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at the LDS Church located at 12852 S. 3200 W. Riverton, UT. Viewing will be held Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W., Riverton from 5:00-7:00 pm and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to services at the church. Interment to follow at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 S. Memory Lane. In lieu of flowers, the family will kindly accept donations to help cover medical costs.
